Here are some tips to give the clients a premium experience while working with them.</p><h2>Be Prepared!</h2><p>While you apply for any project work, you know you have the prerequisites to complete the project. In the initial meeting with the client, ensure you conduct yourself well, let them know your experience, and similar projects you have worked on before, and communicate what you would bring to the table. They might have gone through your profile and any sample work you have submitted during your application. Ask them about their thoughts on it. Let them know you are keen to take up the project.</p><h2>Understand their Goal</h2><p>You would have a very limited understanding of their project. Maybe technical aspects are clear but it is imperative to understand what they are after. What’s their goal? Ask them questions about the project. No questions are stupid or silly. If there is any discrepancy, confirm with the client if this is what they want. It’s better to raise questions before than later and deliver the wrong product. This way you’ll lose your client and end up wasting your time and their time as well. For a successful collaboration, both parties should be aligned with the goals.</p><h2>Response Time Matters</h2><p>Imagine you’re a client and have sent an email to the freelancer asking about some task update. It would be frustrating if your response time is after 48 hours. Especially, in the freelancing industry where we work in different time zones due to different locations and remote working styles, it could be daunting for the clients if they do not receive a response for too long. Ideally, 24 hours window time is fair enough, or maybe even less than that would boost the client’s confidence in you. It would be a good idea to let the client know the approximate time of your hours so that they are aware of your working style.&nbsp;</p><p>Setting aside definite times for freelance work is recommended to avoid any conflicts. It is easier for full-time freelancers, but part-time freelancers need to divide their schedule in a way that doesn’t cause inconvenience in their work.&nbsp;</p><h2>Implement their Feedback&nbsp;</h2><p>Freelancers must tackle the feedback of their clients positively. Continuous effort to improve in every phase is a pathway to satisfy the clients’. Take their feedback and implement it in your work. As a freelancer dealing with IT projects, new feature requests and scope change is bound to happen. Analyze the quantity and let them know if it can be incorporated into the existing agreement or would require additional fees. After all, this is all business.</p><h2><em>Create a Schedule</em></h2><p>Estimate the time and effort required to complete the project with the risks involved. Determine the schedule and agree with it. Don’t forget to consider the client review time in this process. Define a sufficient period for the same.</p><h2><em>Say Thanks!</em></h2><p>Let them know you appreciate their feedback and would incorporate their feedback. Ensure you tell them you’ll stick to the schedule and reach out if any issues are faced.</p><h2>Take an extra mile</h2><p>At times, there are situations where the client might behave less friendly and you take a step back in your work. This is the time to go above and beyond to solve their problem. This would pay you high dividends in your future and high chances of making the client happy as you embraced yourself. If you show them this is your priority and impress them with the quality of work you have submitted. You achieved two rewards here: You have won their trust as a reliable freelancer and proved you performed excellently under pressure.</p><p>Remember, if the clients are happy you are bound to get more recommendations which means more projects. That’s how freelancers have repeated clients. It takes a long time to build trust and sometimes there will be certain situations that will allow you to build it for yourself.
